Amoxil (Generic)
Amoxil (generic) is a name of a medication with amoxicillin as an active ingredient. It is used for treating gonorrhea, as well as infections of the ear/nose/throat, genitourinary tract, lower respiratory tract and skin. This antibiotic is effective only against infections strongly suspected to be of bacterial origin. It works by inhibiting biosynthesis of cell wall mucopeptide in the susceptible β-lactamase–negative organisms, including Helicobacter pylori, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and some others.
Generic Amoxil may come in the form of capsules, tablets (including chewable tabs), and powder for oral suspension.
Generic Amoxil is also available in the market as Amoxicillin, Amox, Alphamox, Zimox, Trimox, Wymox, etc.
