Enalapril

Enalapril is the antihypertensive medication and the active ingredient of Vasotec. Its action is based on regulating angiotensin I and angiotensin II production and thus lowering aldosterone levels that, in its turn, influences peripheral vascular resistance, blood pressure, and myocardium load. It is one of the most prescribed, safe, and effective medications for arterial hypertension, which is also used in the treatment of congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and bronchospastic conditions.

Enalapril may be also marketed as: Vasotec, Innovace, Pralenal, Renitec.
