Zyvox (Generic)

Generic Zyvox (linezolid) is used to treat different types of infections, including pneumonia and blood and skin infections. Linezolid, an active component, belongs to the category of synthetic medications called oxazolidinones. The drug works by stopping the growth of bacteria, entering the bacteria cells, binding them with ribosomes and suppressing the protein synthesis. This antibiotic is not used to heal cold, influenza and other viral infections.
